It is a project whose main goal is the development of a pilot that makes it possible to treat waste from antineoplastic drugs, present in the urine/faeces of oncologic patients treated at an ONCOLOGICAL DAY HOSPITAL, before being discharged into the wastewater system, thus reducing the environmental impact of medical treatments in general and oncological treatments in particular.
Both in the scientific and industrial communities there is a great deal of interest in obtaining Ethernet-based systems for large-scale industrial control tasks [KOE12]. The fact is that even today technology is not mature and, to this end, it is still necessary to solve many technological challenges, including integration within the TSN (Time Sensitive Networking) framework. However, the possibilities that open up to use high-performance synchronisation systems in new markets such as the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), make it more than interesting and justified to tackle this challenge as indicated by NIST [GPS15].
Through this project, and based on previous research, we will develop what we call “The family portal – GESAD Family”. It is a system, integrated with associated devices, which is much more than a technological tool (software and devices) at the service of efficiency in the provision of home care services to dependent people: It can be a tool to ensure the quality of care, with which primary family caregivers, or care specialists, and care receivers can see their needs and demands acknowledged. It is about learning what these needs are and provide a quality service in relation to these needs. This is the reason that justifies resorting to a qualitative approach based on two intervention programs that are assisted by integrated technological tools (software and devices) with the already operative Home Assistance Management System (GESAD) according to the real needs of the individuals involved.
